Ever heard the saying, “You don’t own a cat, they own you?” Well, that’s exactly what happened to Renae, the kindhearted founder of TippedEars, when a tiny kitten named Storm blew into her life – quite literally!
Storm wasn’t your average kitty. She had survived a wild storm (hence the name!) and possessed the personality of a lioness, despite her petite size. Right from the start, Storm took charge of Renae’s house, ruling over the other cats and even the dog!
But Storm had a secret. She wobbled when she walked. This little fighter had cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition that affects balance. Did that stop her? Absolutely not! Storm lived life to the fullest, reminding us that even with challenges, we can still be awesome.
One day, Renae welcomed another foster kitten named Jane. Storm, after giving Jane the “side-eye” of suspicion, decided to befriend her. They became the ultimate wrestling duo, learning and growing together. It was a heartwarming sight to behold!
Sadly, as with all good foster stories, the time came for Jane to find her forever home. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but Storm knew that Jane would be happy.
Now, here’s the best part. Storm, the little hurricane of joy, had captured Renae’s heart so completely that she became a “foster fail.” Storm had found her forever home right there, with the human who had saved her life.
So, if you ever think you’re choosing a cat, remember, they might just choose you! And who knows, you might end up with a wobbly, sassy, and incredibly lovable cat like Storm who brings a whole lot of sunshine into your life.
Remember: Adopting a pet with special needs can be incredibly rewarding. They might need a little extra love and care, but they’ll give you back tenfold in affection and joy.
